THE MAGNIFICENCE OF HAZRAT IMAAM HUSSEIN(RADI ALLAAHU ANHU)

Allah Ta'ala states in The Holy Quran:

''Allah only desires to keep you away from all uncleanliness O people of the house (of The Prophet) and keep you well purified after cleaning you thoroughly'

(Surah Ahzab. verse 33)

Hazrat Fatimah Al-Zahrah(Radi Allaahu Anha), Hazrat Ali(Radi Allaahu Anhu), Hazrat Imaam Hassan(Radi Allaahu Anhu), and Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) are all included in the family (ahle bayet) of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In a hadith, it is narrated that 'one-day Prophet went out of his house wearing a cloak. He came across Hassan and took him under his cloak. Then came Hussein and Prophet took him under his cloak too. Then Ali and Fatimah came. He gathered all of them under his cloak and supplicated to Allah Ta'ala, 'O Allah! This is my ahle bayet'.therefore remove all abomination from them and make them pure and clean'. (Muslim).

Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) was born on 5th of Shabaan, 4 Hijjri, in Madina Munawwarah, to Hazrat Ali Murtaza(Radi Allaahu Anhu) and Hazrat Fatimah(Radi Allaahu Anha), the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He is the younger bother of Hazrat Imaam Hassan(Radi Allaahu Anhu). Prophet blessed him with the name Hussein and Shabir.

The morning Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) was born, after the Fajr Namaaz, Prophet took Hazrat Ali(Radi Allaahu Anhu) back to the house of Hazrat Fatimah(Radi Allaahu Anha) and 'said, 'Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) is born'. Scores of angels led by Hazrat Jibreel(alaihis salaam) descended and lined up at the door of Hazrat Fatimah's(Radi Allaahu Anha) house to congratulate Prophet ﷺ. Soon, the companions(Radi Allaahu Anhum) also followed and assembled at the door of Hazrat Fatimah(Radi Allaahu Anha) to congratulate the family.

Prophet recited adhan in the ears of Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu), and chewed some dates and put the blessed juice (saliva) in the mouth of Hazrat Imaam Hussein (Radi Allaahu Anhu). Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) smiled at the Messenger ﷺ. Prophet told Hazrat Fatimah(Radi AllaahuAnha) that Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allahu Anhu) said to him that you recited adhan in my ears and I will perform Namaaz in the grounds of Karballa.

Prophet Muhammad said, 'Jibreel(alaihis salaam) informed me that my grandson Al-Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) will be martyred after me in the land of al-Taff (Karbala) and brought me this soil (turbah) and informed me that this is the soil of the place he will be martyred'. (Tabaqat, by Ibn Sa'ad).

Prophet gave that soil to his wife, Ummul Momineen, Hazrat Salmah(Radi Allaahu Anha) and said, ' when you see this soil turned into blood, know that Hussein has been martyred'. (Musnad)

In the present time, the advocates and the followers of Yazeed, disguising themselves as Sunnis are going at extreme lengths to prove that Yazeed was unmistakable. The Ahlus Sunnah Wa Jama'ah firmly believes in the truthfulness, authority and the entitlement of Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu).

Yazeed was a womanizer, alcoholic. cruel, a bloodthirsty tyrant, and a murderer.' We, the Ahlus Sunnah Wa Jama'ah curse Yazeed and his followers. May you all be dispelled from the bounty of Allah Ta'ala.

Allah Ta'ala states in The Holy Quran:

'And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah. They shall be presented before their Lord. And the witnesses will say, these are they who forged lie against their Lord. Behold; curse of Allah is upon the unjust'

(Surah Hud. verse 18)

The rank and magnificence of Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) can only be understood if we know the exalted authority of Prophet Muhammad who said, 'Hussein is from me, and I am from Hussein', 'I am the flower of Prophethood, and Hussein is the fragrance of that flower'.

Allah Ta'ala states in The Holy Quran:

' O believers! Respond to the call of Allah and the Messenger, when the Messenger calls, you for a thing that will give you life. And know that Allah's command comes between man and his hearts desires, and you are to be gathered towards him'

(Surah An-Anfaal. verse 24)

From this we learn that the call of Prophet is the call of Allah Ta'ala because Allah Ta'ala does not call upon anyone directly. In whatever state and condition a Muslim may be, he must respond immediately to the call from Prophet even if he is engaged in offering Namaaz, as this would not in any way invalidate his salaah.

The magnificence of Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) is such that when Prophet ﷺ 'was in prostration (sajda), Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) (when a child) climbed on his back. Prophet remained in prostration until Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) came down. When the companions(Radi Allaahu Anhum) asked Prophet about his prolonged sajda, he replied, 'my son was riding on my back and I did not want to hurry him up until he had enough'. (Al-Nasaa'i).

Prophet prolonged his sajda for Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) and Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) sacrificed his and his family's life in Karbala. After his martyrdom, his decapitated blessed head was paraded on the tip of a sword, but still he recited The Holy Quran.

Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) performed a sajda in Karbala, of which Allah Ta'ala is proud. Prophet prolonged his sajda for Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu). And Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) went into sajda in Karballa, but will be coming up from this sajda on the Day of Judgement (Qayamat). This is the magnificence of Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu).

Prophet said, 'Hassan and Hussein are the Masters of the youth in Paradise'. There were others in the family (ahle bayet), and in the families of the companions(Radi Allaahu Anhum) for this kindness. But these two princes of the ummah were chosen by Prophet , for the reason they had to endure extreme trials and tests in their lifetime, and in the end they sacrificed their lives for the cause of Islam.

On the Day of Judgement, there will be three pulpits. One for the Prophets where Prophet Muhammad will be present. The second pulpit will be for the Awliya where Hazrat Ali(Radi Allaahu Anhu) will be present. And the third pulpit will be for the martyrs (shuhadaa) where Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu) will be present.

The foundation of prayer (Namaaz), Fasting (Roza), Charity (Zakaat) and pilgrimage (Hajj) is Kalima Taiyab. And the foundation of Kalima Taiyab is Hazrat Imaam Hussein(Radi Allaahu Anhu).
